There are accounts that Frank Browne used a Kodak Brownie. I have also read that it could have been a Plaubel 'Baby' Makina - a strut folding camera that used film plates.

In the accompanying manual of the Kodak Brownie, there is a paragraph stating that, 'anyone who purchases an Eastman camera is entitled to "Kodakery" free of charge.'
"Kodakery" was a monthly journal for the budding photographer. Perhaps Fr Browne was a subscriber!
